Q: How long will a MinWell+ filter last?

A: A filter will last 6 months – depending, as always, on water conditions. When the filter is replaced (a 5 minute job) your MinWell+ returns to full filtration, pH and ORP power. Please note that filter life always depends on input water quality. The MinWell+ has as its first stage, a ceramic membrane that halts sediment entry. Most filters simply let it in and replace the filter when flow slows up due to accumulated sediment. The MinWell+ filter can be ‘sanded’ down with the included cleanse pad to remove all sediment and restore flow.

It’s important that you do this because if you don’t water can’t make it through the ceramic and pressure will build up in the chamber, possibly causing a split chamber. This WILL cost you to replace because it only happens when you don’t perform routine maintenance.

Q: I tested my output water and it’s showing acidic not alkaline

A: What are you using to test the water? The pH strips used for urine and saliva can’t test water, nor can the yellow litmus paper. You will need to use the pH reagent drops available from our Australian site.

Also test the water that is from your source water, ie the kitchen tap (or water that you have purchased) and test its pH with the pH reagent. Now test the water from your MinWell+ to see if there is a change in pH compared to the source water. Remember if your source water is very acidic this will impact the final pH of the water. Rainwater from plastic tanks is very acidic.

Q: How does MinWell+ pH perform?

A: The MinWell+ changes the pH of tap water to an output of 9 -10pH. Please be aware that like any water ioniser, pH output is always dependent upon the mineral makeup of the input water.

Q: Can I adjust the pH of the water?

A: Yes, all of the filtration and enhancement attributes of the MinWell+ can be controlled by adjusting the flow rate. The faster the flow, the less time the water has to react with the filtration and energising media and conversely, the slower the flow the more time it has to react. We recommend a flow rate of around 1L/minute.

Q: Can MinWell+ remove fluoride?

A: The MinWell+ uses activated alumina, followed by KDF, to safely remove up to 80% fluoride in the water. Water fluoridation has been banned in many countries because of potential negative health effects but the majority of Australian cities have or have plans for fluoridated water. Please note that activated alumina works to absorb fluoride until it can absorb no more. At that time it can release fluoride, and will no longer absorb it. For this reason we recommend a six month filter change over.

Q: Why is the water dripping out of the outlet/faucet after I’ve turned it off at the tap?

A: It is normal for a small amount of water to continue coming out of your outlet/faucet for up to 30 seconds after you have turned it off at the tap. This happens because there is water in the inlet hose and unit after the tap is turned off and the therapeutic hydrogen gas created by the magnesium in the filter bubbles the water out particularly when the filter is new.

Q: Why is my water flow slowing down and how can I fix it?

A: When the outflow of the filtered water decreases or stops completely, this indicates that the Ceramic Filter of the Cartridge is covered with mud or sediment, making it difficult for in-coming water to pass through the system. The Ceramic Filter will need to be cleaned.

Note: Use soft scouring pad provided. Do NOT use a hard toothbrush or metal scourers as these can damage the Ceramic Filter.

Important: Clean the Ceramic Filter of the Filter Cartridge with running tap water. DO NOT soak in any detergents or wash with any detergent-based cleaners.

  1. Turn off the system
  2. Pull out the Outlet Pipe from the Top Cap
  3. Turn Casing Cover anti-clockwise to loosen
  4. Pull off the Top Cap
  5. Important: Turn on tap water and it will push filter cartridge up
  6. Take it out and wash with the scouring pad provided
  7. Once cleaned, refill water to about 1/2 of the casing. Then turn off the tap water
  8. Re-install the cartridge, squeezing out excess water. This removes air bubbles. Flatten handle
  9. Finally, re-attach the Top Cap. Then screw on the Casing Cover clockwise and reconnect the Outlet Pipe
Q: Why is water leaking from the base of the unit?

A: The small white hoses at the bottom of the unit are attached via John Guest valves. These are easy to use and do not require clamps etc. There are two insert depths for the hose attachments which are designed for your protection. If you have only pushed the hose into the first depth, the hose will easily pull out during use. With the second insert depth, the hose is fastened by an internal connector and will not pull out during use once it is inserted well.

Push hard to insert the hose into the deepest level. Not pushing the hose in far enough may cause leakage.
If water is still leaking, push the collar of the John Guest valve in with your nails or a blunt instrument to release the hose and you may need to recut the hose with a sharp knife to make sure it has a good, clean and straight cut.

Q: Can I connect my MinWell+ in-line to my existing Reverse Osmosis system (RO)?

A: Yes, the MinWell+ can be connected to your RO in place of your faucet. It will add powerful alkalising and ionising abilities to your ‘neutral’ RO water.

Q: Can I connect the MinWell+ in-line to my cold water pipe under the sink?

A: Yes, the MinWell+ can be attached but you’ll need to order a MinWell+ undersink kit available from our website and dealers – plus drill a small hole in your sink bench top. Do NOT buy a standard faucet from your local hardware. You need a special kit that keeps the mains pressure away from the MinWell+. The wrong kit will allow full mains pressure and may rupture your MinWell+ AND void your warranty.

Q: Can I run hot water through the MinWell+ units?

A: No! Hot water will affect the efficacy and efficiency of the Ceramic Filter and the Carbon Filter in the unit, thus compromising on the quality of the filtered water.

Q: Will boiling MinWell+ Water affect its health-giving properties?

A: No! When the water is heated, the molecular clusters will temporarily break up. Once cooled, the water molecules will regroup to its original stable cluster arrangement with all its healthful properties intact.

Q: Is MinWell+ water suitable for infants?

A: Certainly! Our human body fluids are naturally alkaline and in small molecular clusters. Thus giving infants MinWell+ water, which has health-giving properties & small molecular clusters is very important to ensure maximum hydration for optimum growth and development. MinWell+ Water is perfectly safe and is the best kind of water that you can give them.

Q: Can sick people benefit from MinWell+ Water?

A: Yes, although we cannot make specific health claims, excess acidity, mineral deficiencies and cellular dehydration are at the root cause of many illnesses and diseases. Health experts and doctors commonly advocate drinking lots of water whenever a patient is sick, in pain, or on medication. Water hydrates the cells and flushes out toxins. Since MinWell+ Water gets into cells better and faster than most other types of water and is mineralized and alkaline, it should help expedite recovery and establish overall wellness. Those with illnesses should increase their consumption of MinWell+ Water to at least 2 litres a day during convalescence. (unless advised otherwise by their health practitioner).

Q: Is MinWell+ Water with alkaline PH, suitable for cleansing the face?

A: Absolutely. The water will not disturb the skin’s acid mantle. Unlike tap water, it is completely free from skin-ageing contaminants and chlorine. Its bio-available ionic minerals, molecular hydrogen and oxygen accelerate the natural regenerative process to give you a healthier, clearer complexion.
